A Tribute to Rudolph “Versadig” Marais

A Tribute to Rudolph “Versadig” Marais

With great sadness, we announce that Rudolph “Versadig” Marais, our Eastern Cape Area Manager, unexpectedly passed away due to a heart attack on Saturday, 2 September 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Maridé, and their two small children, Philip and Mia.

Our hearts go out to them and they are in our prayers.

A person who gave us so much to remember, will not be easily forgotten.

There are things we don’t want to happen but have to accept, and people cannot live without but have to let go.

To us, and to his many, many friends and acquaintances, Rudolph was such a person.

We honour his legacy.

A memorial was held in Addo on Saturday, 9 September 2017. We would like to thank every family member, colleague and friend that attended to pay his/her last respect to Rudolph. A person’s wealth can be measured in the number of lives one has touched and Rudolph was surely a very rich man.

In the spirit of Rudolph’s legacy, we want to ensure that we still want and will be of service to the Sondagsriver community.

For the foreseeable future, contact details are as follows:

  1. Acting Manager Eastern Cape: Fanie “Stroper” Fourie – 073 402 0655
  2. Eastern Cape Office: 082 556 9460 or 082 485 0586
  3. General Manager and other inquiries: Willem van der Merwe (Worcester Branch)

Although nobody can leave footprints like Versadig did, we want to ensure the best service at all times. We will try our best to honour his memory and what he has accomplished.
